Why am I seeing missed payments for my account in default?

If you’re seeing missed payments on your report, it is usually because you previously defaulted on your original agreement with the lender. These missed payments highlighted in your credit report have no further impact on your score than what the default is already having.

We will continue to flag the defaulted account as a missed payment each month until the account has been settled. We're not creating these missed payments in your credit report, the default is being reported every month by the lender, and we're showing this in the credit report analysis.

If you don’t recognise the missed payment, then you may want to speak with your lender directly to understand why this information is being reported to the credit reference agencies.

If your lender has confirmed that you haven't defaulted on your account, you can raise a dispute from within your TotallyMoney account. When you do this, our credit report partner TransUnion will investigate the missed payments with your lender.

If your lender has confirmed you did not default on the account, you can raise a dispute against the information and TransUnion can investigate this with your lender for you. You can read more on how to raise a dispute here.
