Fraudulent companies using our name
Updated over a week ago

Scam companies are not uncommon and can often disguise themselves by pretending to be another company (known as clone firms). Unfortunately it appears that one of these companies has recently decided to use our name as well.

We are aware of a few cases recently where individuals have been contacted by a company claiming to be TotallyMoney, asking for money in return for a loan. Please note we are NOT a lender and do not provide any credit products. We are totally free and would NEVER ask for a customer’s card details and do not have the ability to charge any customers or store any card details. Therefore if you are asked for money by a company claiming to be TotallyMoney, please do not provide them with any details.

If you have been the victim of this or a similar scam there are some actions that you can take that may help. First thing to do would be to contact your bank, as soon as possible. If you provide your bank/lender with as much information about the charge (i.e. when it was, the fraudulent account number etc.), indicating that the charge was made to a fraudulent company they may be able to raise the matter with the recipient bank. This does not guarantee the funds will be returned, but due to it being a time sensitive situation it is better to notify them straight away.

We would also suggest that you raise the issue with Action Fraud. If you have been effected by the company claiming to be TotallyMoney, please contact us using the help button below so that we can provide you with the Action Fraud reference number and contact details for these cases.

It is a horrible situation to be in and we are sorry to hear that this is happening to people, especially where our name is being used. Hopefully the advice we have provided will be of some value moving forward and as mentioned above, do get in contact with us for the Action Fraud reference number if you have been affected.
