What is a credit report?
Updated over 4 months ago

Credit reports are compiled from the data collected by credit reference agencies. The UK's 3 main credit reference agencies (Experian, Equifax & TransUnion) gather information from public records and financial accounts that have been active within the last six years.

This can include information about:

  • Credit accounts (credit cards, loans, mortgages)

  • Electoral register

  • Missed payments and defaults

  • Individual Voluntary Arrangements (IVA)

  • Judgments (CCJs, Insolvencies and Bankruptcies)

  • Financial associations

  • Linked addresses

Lenders can request your credit report to decide if they will accept or decline your application for credit. As a result, it’s important to check that the information held about you by credit reference agencies is correct. Each time you login we’ll update your credit report if our data suggests there’s been a change with TransUnion, or if it’s been more than a week since your last report update. Credit reports are updated a maximum of once per day.

There are many services that provide you with access to your credit file information, however there are only a few that provide you with this access for free. We provide a platform where you can view your TransUnion report for free!
