How long will a CCJ remain on my credit report?

Your CCJ will stay on the register for up to six years from the date of judgment. Since your credit report is created using the same information, it will stay on your report for six years.

If you pay the CCJ in full within 30 days of getting it, however, the court can have the CCJ removed from your report (there may a fee to do this).

If you don't pay within 30 days, the CCJ will appear on your credit report, even if you pay it off in full. If you do pay it off, you can pay to have the CCJ marked as settled on your credit report.

The CCJ can also be removed if the judgment is set aside.

Your judgment may be set aside if you disagree with it. For example, if you have proof that you didn’t get the papers, or a good reason for not attending the hearing, or if the court makes a genuine mistake.
