Why are my account balances incorrect?
Updated over a week ago

The account balances on your credit report are your statement balances. This means it reflects the amount on your latest bill issued by your lender, not your live account balance.

If you’re still concerned about the balance on an account or want to find out the reason why the information may not have been updated, you’ll need to contact the lender directly.

This is because balances on your account aren’t shown in real time, so your report shows you the statement balance of the account when the lender last shared that information with TransUnion. We suggest checking with your lender first, as TransUnion can only amend information with their authorisation. Hopefully, when you’ve contacted them, it’ll be clearer as to why the balance is incorrect. If this information is amended, it can take up to 6 weeks for lenders to inform TransUnion.

You can see when your lender last updated TransUnion on your accounts page. To find this on the app:

  • Visit the Overview tab

  • Scroll down and click 'See all your accounts'
