If you have raised a dispute and it has been unsuccessful, don’t worry, there are still steps you can take to have the information removed from your credit report.
TotallyMoney only receive your credit report once a month from TransUnion, this is received as a snapshot. What this means is that any information TransUnion receive after they have sent us your credit report will not be visible until we receive your credit report the next month.
If your dispute has been unsuccessful, it could be that the lender has already provided an update to TransUnion and the information has already been updated. Once your credit report refreshes, you will then be able to see this information.
If the information is still incorrect after your credit report has updated, this would indicate that either the information is correct or that the lender is unaware that they are reporting incorrect information. TransUnion are only able to amend information on your credit report if the lender gives them authorisation.
You can contact your lender directly to discuss the incorrect information, the lender should then be able to provide you with further details on why this information is being reported to your credit report. If the lender agrees that the information is incorrect, you can then request that they update TransUnion with the correct information.
Alternatively, you can contact TransUnion directly for more information about the unsuccessful dispute and they may be able to provide you with some additional information. To do this, please contact TransUnion directly.
