I can’t get on the electoral register. What can I do?

You can’t get on the electoral register if you’re not eligible to vote in the UK. But, you can let lenders know this is the reason you’re not on the register.

You can do this by adding a Notice of Correction to your report. To add a Notice of Correction to your TotallyMoney report, click here to contact TransUnion, using the email address you used to sign up to our website.

You'll need to send over your full name, date of birth, and proof of address and how long you've been there. Proof of address could be a utility bill, driving license, or rent agreement.

Once it’s been added, banks and lenders will be able to see why you’re not on the electoral register.

Also, it’s a good idea to email and add a notice of correction to the Credit Reference Agencies we don’t use for your credit report (Equifax and Experian). This is because lenders can use any of the agencies when doing their checks.

It’s important to know that this could slow down your credit application, as the lender will need to manually check what the notice says.
