What are score-impacting searches?

Edited

Your TransUnion credit report will show any searches made in your name. A score-impacting search is commonly known as a hard search. These often occur when you apply for credit and may affect your credit score.

Score-impacting searches can also be carried out for other reasons, such as insurance, government checks, and business checks.

These searches stay on your file and are visible to lenders for around two years.
