What does good look like with the new score?
We are updating our score bands in line with TransUnion’s update.
We’ll continue to categorise your TransUnion credit score into one of five bands. They will range from ‘Low’ to ‘Excellent’.
Here’s a comparison table of the new and existing score bands
Existing score bands | New score bands |
Excellent: 628 – 710 | Excellent: 786 – 999 |
Very good: 604 – 627 | Great: 653 – 785 |
Pretty good: 566 – 603 | Good: 563 – 652 |
Could be better: 551 – 565 | Fair: 488 – 562 |
Needs work: 0 – 550 | Low: 0 – 487 |
These bands help give you an idea of how lenders might interpret your credit report when making lending decisions. Whether you’re eligible for credit depends on your circumstances and the lender’s criteria.
You can check which band your new score sits in once it goes live. If your score band changes with this update, that’s just the new scale settling in, not a reflection of anything you’ve done.
