Why is my score changing?

Edited

You’ll get a new score as we’re upgrading to TransUnion’s new scoring system. TransUnion is one of the UK's main credit reference agencies.

Your new score will be on a bigger scale, out of 999. It’s designed to give you a clearer and more helpful picture of your credit health.

TransUnion is updating the way scores are calculated to closely reflect how lenders look at credit applications. This will give you a better idea of how lenders might interpret your report, so you know where you stand.

Your new score will look at trends in your credit data, and combine how you use credit over time with a moment-in-time snapshot. The new score also uses a broader range of factors, including how account balances have changed over time and how credit cards are used. This will give you a more complete and detailed view of your credit health.

With this update you’ll also get more personalised insights in the TotallyMoney app. These will help make it easier for you to understand and improve your credit score and your borrowing options.

The release of your new score won’t change the information contained within your credit report. It won’t affect what lenders see, your chances of getting accepted for credit, any existing credit agreements, or ongoing applications.
